GODSPAWN - environmental DANCE THEATER piece
GODSPAWN is a dark, glittering, transgender rumpus through a goth/dark-wave nightclub at the edge of the world. Combining dance-theater, drag, and nightlife, this playful, experimental work ultimately acts as a ritual for trans joy and community, via The Dance Floor. We energetically reach towards that blissful place where we can lose ourselves somewhere between those other sweaty bodies and your own. Somewhere, out in that glittering fog, Sublimation collides with the Sublime– and the world ruptures into confetti, glitter, and poppers. GODSPAWN begins as a performance, and ends as a party.
Originally created as a work-in-progress showing in DECEMBER of 2023, this piece features six trans performers and can take place in any venue that has a good soundsystem and a semblance of a dance floor.
