BLISS

BLISS is a digital drag performance to Depeche Mode’s iconic song “You Should be Higher.” Created and shot in late 2020, this work was a turning point in Aeon’s aesthetic language and a miniature diving board into film direction. Oversaturated and almost ritual, the work intends to be moody and abstract in narrative. Culminating in a durational shot during which Aeon’s face is steadily covered in thick paint, BLISS marks the beginning of Aeon’s interest in drag as ritual.
